Fascists attack presentation of "Greek-Macedonian" Dictionary

This video is proudly posted on blogs affiliated with the Neo-Nazi group "Chrysi Avgi", as well as the site of the extreme right wing newspaper "Stoxos" and the site of "Xrisi Avgi" itself. It shows fascists attacking the presentation of the new "Greek-Macedonian Dictionary" on the 02.06.2009, published under the auspices of the EFA-Vinozito Ουράνιο Τόξο-Rainbow) minority political party.

The thugs who interrupted the presentation objected to the use of the name "Macedonian" as they do not recognize the existence of a separate "Macedonian" language, considering that only Greeks can be Macedonians...

Whatever viewpoint one takes on the naming dispute, such violence and oppression of the right of free expression is unacceptable. One hopes that the Greek police will take action against the culprits (whose faces can clearly be seen on the video the have proudly posted). However given the history of the relations between the various fascist groups (and especially Chrysi Avgi) and the police in Greece, this is at best unlikely. Yet another blemish against Democracy in Greece.

Later on the same night (half an hour after midnight) fascists attacked and burned the election center that belonged to the left wing party ANTARSYA. No suspects were apprehended...

ANTARSYA condemned the attack and noted that it is surprising that although it happened in the centre of Athens, in an area full of police forces, no one noticed anything. The official announcement of the party spoke of this latest attack being but the last in a series of attacks carried out lately by such fascist groups.
